Channeling in

August 21st, 2007 by shawn

The Doctor ordered a vacation so we put up sail with The Coleman’s and Seth Schmidt. The trip across the Santa Barbara Channel was a little rough and Jessica held onto her cookies until a minute to setting anchor. In the end we circumnavigated Santa Cruz Island, and stayed in some amazing moorings (Fry’s, Willows, Albert’s). Freediving, Swimming, Eating, Reading and Relaxing were what comprised our days. Usually there is surf, but we didn’t luck out like two years ago. Here is the narrative through some photos.

Jessica and I had the great opportunity to visit Susan, Eric, Amy and Sam up in Fairbanks, Alaska recently for spring break. It was a bit of a shocker

A Birthday and Ocatilla Swells

March 10th, 2007 by shawn

Went to Ramona to celebrate Caitlin Blair Benson’s 17 birthday. Jess and I drug a railroad tie a mile for my mom’s garden, we ate some cake and steak, watched some Dog Whisperer and talked it up. Overall it was super fun to spend some time with the family.

What the Vader

March 4th, 2007 by shawn

On Saturday I was working an early lifeguarding shift and the dark side decided to show up at Coronado. Turns out these guys dress up for charity work. Who would have known the dark side had a soft side. Wierd.

Bien Hecho

February 1st, 2007 by shawn

This is probably one of the last additions of photo sets for a bit because I finally caught up with publishing all the photos I took over the last 4 months. Anyways, this was a trip to Mexico for a little surf the day after Christmas. It is something Mr. Williams always brought us Ramona kids on. Just remember his name is Mr. Will and not Mr. Won’t. It was good to catch up with Brian, Guiseppi, Jeff, Mr. Williams and my brother. However, going back to cross the border they switched up what used to be the carpool lane. It took us into the Sentry pass lane which is a shorter line that you buy a pass for every couple of years. We didn’t have the pass so once we crossed the border they sent us right back. In total we spent 4 1/2 hours in line minimum. The whole time I had to go to the bathroom super bad (#1) and ended up having to use a gatorade bottle in the back seat of my car. Don’t tell. Over all it was good to be back in Mex. Just don’t invest in riverfront drainage property.

I took this shot of Griffin a long time ago, but it is one of my favorites. This is a photo set of random San Diego shots also.

Poor Bush

January 30th, 2007 by shawn

This is a set from our trip to Utah Thanksgiving 2006. My family has been heading out here for a while and we helped my dad build a cabin in a town called Escalante. There are millions of miles of offroad and hiking trails. The wide open space and colors are amazing and it is always a good change of pace from San Diego.
I just realized that the title I gave this blog makes it seem like a political statement, but it isn’t. However, if you want to get amped up let me know what you think of some of the photos. Leave your comments on my flickr account. Peace, Hope and Love.
